An original c.1909-1912 German Kriegsmarine
Imperial Navy Silk material Display Cloth.
This is the 2nd display cloth in this design we purchased from his estate (See below).
This lovely display cloth is hand made in China and has a German Imperial Navy Design
in its Middle with a knitted edge all of the way around.The centre design is made from Silk and
Bullion wire thread stitched onto to a White Silk material backing.
It is one sided.
Around the inside edge is a Pink & Purple Silk thread & Gold bullion wire stitched Floral design.
It is around 65cm wide by 65cm high (not including the knitted edge that is about 5cm).
There are a few small holes and wear marks but overall this is a very nice condition Display sheet.
There is also some colour leaching around the Crown. In Very Nice used condition.

This Silk Sheet was acquired by a WW1 German Sailor Senior Artillery Petty Officer
(Oberartillerie-Maat) Balckes, who served in China from 1909 to 1912 and then returned to
Germany for his wartime service.
